Today, NC State’s Park Scholarships welcomed Patricia Crane ‘02 as the program’s development associate.
In this new position, Crane will serve as a key point of contact for the Park Scholarships’ fundraising and development-related initiatives. In addition to ensuring operational efficiency in managing donor and gift records, Crane will coordinate donor communications and play an integral role in organizing sPark 2018 and other events.
The Park Scholarships development associate position was created as part of the program’s efforts to grow its endowment. In 2013, the Park Foundation gave $50 million—the largest single gift in NC State’s history—to begin an endowment for the Park Scholarships program. Now, with NC State’s Think and Do the Extraordinary Campaign underway, the Park Scholarships program is excited to continue building on this generous gift.
Crane brings to the Park Scholarships team more than 14 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising. For the past three years, she oversaw the membership program for WCPE 89.7 FM, a classical music station based in Wake Forest, N.C. Previously, Crane spent ten years at The Nature Conservancy’s headquarters in Arlington, Va., working in member services, member communications, and as a database systems specialist.
“As part of the third class of Park Scholars I am excited to see how the program has grown, and I can’t wait to help it expand even more and to work with the remarkable students who come through our doors,” Crane said.
A Jeopardy! champion in 2007, Crane sings in the North Carolina Master Chorale and enjoys reading Tudor biographies, knitting hats and socks, and watching films by Marvel Studios. She holds a degree in English from NC State.
