Park Scholarships is pleased to announce Kimberly Bloomfield ‘02 as the assistant director of recruiting and selection. Bloomfield will lead the program’s selection process and strategic recruiting plans, playing a pivotal role in bringing exceptional students to NC State.
Bloomfield’s many years of Park experience and passion for lifelong learning are just a few assets she brings to our team. She holds bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and textile chemistry from NC State and is an alum of the Park Scholarships Class of 2002. Bloomfield has been an active member of the Park community for over 16 years. She is a former president and secretary of the Park Alumni Society, volunteered on the selection committee for many years, and most recently served as a program assistant for recruiting and selection.
Bloomfield’s personal experience as a Park Scholar is built upon a foundation of common values, dedication to service, and a positive growth mindset widely shared by her peers. She attributes her continued involvement with the program to a desire to reciprocate the undeniable impact the Park Scholarships program has left on her. Fond memories of Hillsborough Street “Pizza Wednesdays”, deep sea fishing during LLI in Wilmington, NC, and pulling all-nighters for Service Raleigh with her Class of 2002 peers commemorate this experience, too.
As the assistant director of recruiting and selection for Park Scholarships, Bloomfield will develop and implement processes that promote the program’s recruiting initiatives and support the coordination of yield efforts for current and future Park classes. Within this position, Bloomfield will also serve as an adviser to the Park Scholarships Diversity Student Task Force and the Park Under-Resourced Assistance (PURA) program.
Bloomfield brings a holistic approach to leading the Park Scholarships application process and is excited to guide the recruitment and retention of generations of Park Scholars who will change the world for years to come.
