Danyal Mahmud Joins Park Scholarships Office

Park Scholarships welcomes Danyal Mahmud to the community as the program’s graduate assistant. He is a student in NC State’s Master of Education in Higher Education Administration program.

Danyal graduated from UNC Charlotte in May 2022 with a B.S. in psychology and a minor in public health. As an undergraduate, he was a First-Year Learning Community Student Coordinator and Peer Advisor in the University Advising Office. He also worked as a Family Programs Student Coordinator and Orientation Leader in the New Student & Family Services (NSFS), Dean of Students Office. Danyal was an active member of UNC Charlotte’s Fraternity and Sorority Life, serving as President of the Diversified Greek Council for 2021-2022. He was a recipient of the 2022 Jordan Smith Undergraduate Student Fellowship and a 2021 graduate of UNC Charlotte’s Leadership & Community Engagement Office Catalyst Institute. Danyal is a music lover, participating in the marching band at UNC Charlotte and attending local concerts in his free time.

The opportunity to expand his higher education experience by assisting with enrichment experiences such as Freshman and Senior Retreat, Learning Labs, and Freshman Seminar drew Danyal to working for the Park Scholarships program. He is excited to get to know the unique Park student population and the greater Park community. Connect with Danyal on LinkedIn or contact him at dnmahmud@ncsu.edu.
