Park Scholarships Announce Application Changes for 2022-2023 Recruitment Cycle

“The mission of the Park Scholarships program is to bring exceptional students to NC State, based on outstanding accomplishments and potential in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The program develops and supports Park Scholars in these areas, preparing them for lifelong contributions to the university, state, nation, and world.”

The Park Scholarships program is excited to announce changes to its application process beginning this fall. These changes will expand access in line with our diversity, equity, and inclusion goals, and streamline the selection process. Park Scholarships is committed to increasing accessibility and lightening the burden of college application deadlines and requirements for all.

Endorsements have been removed from the Park Scholarships application completely. Removing endorsements is meant to simplify the application process and encourage a wider pool of highly qualified students to apply. Additionally, we will now accept two recommendations per candidate (previously, candidates could submit up to four). Following NC State Undergraduate Admissions policies, ACT/SAT scores are not required for the 2022-2023 application cycle.

To support students, Park Scholarships continues to promote Park Under-Resourced Assistance (PURA), a community specifically designed to aid under-resourced students applying to the Park Scholarships program, and the Diversity Student Task Force, which helps the program expand its reach to prospective students, and allows current students to take leadership roles in the recruitment process.

All highly qualified students are encouraged to apply by Nov. 1. Students, please visit park.ncsu.edu/apply for more information to begin your application.
