Adrian Teegarden ’19 puts her creative mind to work to protect our oceans

Adrian Teegarden ‘19 pushes herself beyond her comfort zone when it comes to exploring her interests in marine science fieldwork and art. Since she has started the Park Scholarships program, Teegarden has discovered a myriad of opportunities to combine these seemingly unrelated fields. A path well taken

At the age of 15, Josh Sawyer ’03 unexpectedly performed CPR on a neighbor until first-responders arrived. It was this moment that catapulted his interest in medicine. Class of 2019 presented William C. Friday Award to Noran Sanford

North Carolina State University’s Park Scholarships Class of 2019 presented the 20th annual William C. Friday Award to Noran Sanford on Monday, November 5 at 5:30 p.m. in NC State’s Duke Energy Hall at Hunt Library. Sanford is the founder of GrowingChange, which converts decommissioned rural prisons into sustainable farms and education centers.

Park Scholarships Welcomes Thomas Hall

The Park Scholarships team is pleased to welcome Thomas Hall as a part-time graduate assistant. As our graduate assistant, Thomas will assist on many Park Scholarships programs including Retreats and Learning Labs. He will manage Freshman Seminar and PRK courses, as well as the Faculty Mentor program. He will also contribute to our recruitment and selection efforts. Two Park Scholars receive the Astronaut Scholarship

Ziad Ali ’19 and Madison Maloney ’19 are recipients of a 2018-2019 Astronaut Scholarship. Awarded to 50 scholars from 36 universities across the nation, the Astronaut Scholarship was established to aid the United States in retaining its world leadership in technology and innovation by supporting the very best and brightest scholars in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while commemorating the legacy of America’s pioneering astronauts. Launching a career in aerospace engineering

Alina Creamer ’20 has just completed her sophomore year at NC State, yet packs an impressive resume. Starting with an internship at Lockheed Martin while in high school, she has since added internships at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) and Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems.
