Theresa Cambre AmersonTheresa Cambre Amerson ’01, was featured by WakeMed for her extraordinary strides as a primary care physician. Serving as executive medical director of Primary Care, Urgent Care and Rheumatology, Amerson presents as a strong leader with a continued focus on the patients and their well-being.

Stephen CausbyAnnounced as Atlanta’s 2017 Cox Conserves Hero, Stephen Causby ’02 led an effort to transform a neglected plot of land into a park the local community could enjoy. Causby currently is manager of the community partnerships group at Atlanta Regional Commission, an organization dedicated to the regional advancement.

Bryan CooperBryan Cooper ’21 was among the 2018 winners for the NC State MakeAThon and was awarded the Paradigm Innovation and Design Award with his team placing second out of fifty.

 

 

Perry CurrinNC State’s student newspaper, Technician, drew attention to the Musical Empowerment Benefit Concert held in January, focused on providing free one-on-one music lessons to youth in under-served communities. Perry Currin ’19 is junior co-president for the NC State chapter, and other Park Scholars involved in hosting the concert include Jennifer Lo ’20, Rosalynn Phan ’19, Elena Price ’20, and Abby Scheper ’20.

Dane EmmerlingNC State’s Alumni Association magazine showcases the men’s retreat sponsored by NC State’s Caldwell Fellows and those who played a role behind the curtains, including Dane Emmerling ’08 and his involvement in planning the event. Emmerling currently holds a position as assistant director of student service-learning at Duke University.

Kobi FeltonA recipient of the 2018 Marshall Scholarship, Kobi Felton ’18 was noted by The News & Observer. Felton will use the award to pursue two master’s degrees, with the first at the University of Cambridge and the second at Imperial College of London.

 

Jasmine FloodJasmine Flood ’12 was commissioned to design a memorial for organ donors and their families at Vidant Medical Center in Greeneville, NC. As an established artist, Flood owns RIADA by Adair, LLC and designs unique and classic modern jewelry and accessories.

 

Emily NevilleFeatured by North State Journal, Emily Neville ’20 speaks about Reborn Clothing Co., her company geared towards reducing textile waste. The journal itself is owned by another Park Scholar alumnus, Jonathan (Neal) Robbins ’01.

 

Anna PaschellAs first author on a paper highlighted in Science and JusticeAnna Paschall ’16 assessed bone mineral content and density to determine the age of over 70 skulls and femers. Paschall is a graduate student working on research with Ann Ross, forensic anthropologist and director of the Forensic Sciences Institute at NC State.

Emily ScottonNamed among 20 “Law Students of the Year” by the National Jurist, Emily Scotton ’15 has been affecting positive change through her efforts with the Family Preparedness Project; a project helping to protect NC residents against deportation. Scotton is expected to earn her JD in May of this year from Wake Forest University.

James WallaceNC State’s Alumni Association featured James Wallace IV ’06 in its magazine, highlighting his professional a cappella group, Transit, which won the Washington D.C. regional semifinal of the International Championship of A Cappella Open.

 

Dani WinterDanielle (Dani) Winter ’18 was spotlighted by NC State’s Sustainability department for her research on stormwater. She designed, built, and installed floating islands in two campus stormwater ponds last year to capture data on water quality.
