The Park Scholarships program is pleased to welcome Nikkiya White. As the assistant director of recruiting and selection, White will play a major role in bringing exceptional students to NC State.
White will develop and implement strategic plans to promote the Park Scholarships program in North Carolina and beyond. She will oversee the program’s recruiting initiatives and outreach to prospective Park Scholars and serve as an adviser to the Park Scholarships Diversity Student Task Force and the Park Under-Resourced Assistance (PURA) program. She will support the selection process and coordinate yield efforts for each future class of Park Scholars and serve as a point of contact for candidates, counselors, and advisors.
White earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at NC State and her master’s degree in higher education administration at Appalachian State University. She joins us from NC State’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where she served as the admissions coordinator for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program for nearly six years. While there, she coordinated and managed admissions, recruitment, scholarships, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Prior to that, White worked in NC State’s Department of Biological Sciences and at Wake Technical Community College.
White is thrilled to join the Park Scholarships staff. She is enthusiastic to connect with members of the Park Scholarships community and can be reached at nikkiya_white@ncsu.edu.
