The Park Scholarships program includes a four-year scholarship awarded on the basis of outstanding accomplishments and potential in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Shevani is a member of the 2022 Class of Park Scholars and will be working with IEI on its Service Year NC project.

What interests you about working with IEI and the Service Year NC initiative?
I hope to have a career in nonprofits or economic development one day and I have always wanted to do a service year after college myself, so I was very excited about the opportunity to work with IEI on the Service Year NC project.

What do you believe is the biggest emerging issue facing our state?
I believe the biggest emerging issue facing our state is economic development!
