Ellen Orabone ‘10 plans to pursue a career which will allow her to address hunger through an approach involving community development and sustainable farming.
Orabone has served as a team leader for a hunger issues Alternative Service Break trip to Italy, and worked for the NC State University Sustainability Office. She is the recipient of the Forbes Leadership Award and four Institute of Food Technologists scholarships. Orabone has studied abroad in Peru and Costa Rica, and interned with Land O’ Lakes and the McDonald’s Corporation. After graduation, she will begin her studies in the dual degree natural resources and sustainable development program at American University and the University for Peace in Costa Rica.
