Laura Lunsford, Director of the Park Scholarships, was featured on Bill Friday’s North Carolina People.
Though she might be used to being behind the interview table, Laura Lunsford was the one answering questions when she appeared on UNC-TV’s longest-running program. In a half-hour appearance with Bill Friday, she discussed the Park Scholarships’ beginnings and its effect on NC State.
The show originally aired on UNC-TV on Friday, Jan. 21, at 9 p.m. and on Sunday, Jan. 23, at 5:30 p.m. It was also broadcast on the North Carolina Channel on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 8:30 a.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 4:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Bill Friday is a well-known and respected North Carolinian, who served as president of the UNC-system for 30 years. During his tenure, he helped establish North Carolina as home to one of the preeminent university systems in the country. An alumni of NC State, Friday is the namesake for the Park Scholarships’ leadership and service award. His show, North Carolina People, has been a PBS staple for over 30 years.
