Madison Maloney ’19 Receives Goldwater Scholarship

Madison Maloney of Greenville, N.C., a North Carolina State University junior majoring in aerospace engineering, has received a 2018 Goldwater Scholarship. Distributed by The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation, the award includes up to $7,500 annually in eligible education expenses for college sophomores and juniors currently studying the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering in the United States who have potential to conduct research and plan to pursue research careers in those fields. Ziad Ali ’19 and Madison Maloney ’19 are recipients of a 2018-2019 Astronaut Scholarship. Awarded to 50 scholars from 36 universities across the nation, the Astronaut Scholarship was established to aid the United States in retaining its world leadership in technology and innovation by supporting the very best and brightest scholars in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while commemorating the legacy of America’s pioneering astronauts. Director of Development Kelleigh Smith Focuses on Park Scholarships’ Fundraising Goals

On January 26, Kelleigh Smith joined NC State’s University Advancement team as director of development with a special focus on advancing the fundraising goals of both the Park Scholarships and Caldwell Fellows programs. Smith will provide direction for both programs’ comprehensive fundraising efforts, and is responsible for attracting major gifts from alumni, friends, industry, private foundations, and other philanthropic partners.

Park Scholars Design Service-Learning Experience in Belize
