The Park Scholarships Selection Committee, comprising more than 300 NC State alumni and friends, conducted interviews with 495 Semifinalists in early January. The Semifinalists were selected from 2,203 applicants. Of that group, 112 candidates have been selected as Finalists for the Class of 2025.

Finalists will participate in Final Selection Activities from February 18 to 21. Online sessions will include individual interviews, group discussion tasks, and panels with faculty and Park Scholars. Finalists and their guests will join a reception and event where they will hear from NC State Chancellor Randy Woodson and esteemed Park Scholarships and NC State alumni. All Finalists who participate in Final Selection Activities and enroll at NC State are guaranteed a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500 per year for four years.)

This year’s Finalists represent 20 U.S. states and 40 North Carolina counties. Among them are student government presidents, varsity athletes, Model United Nations leaders, Eagle Scouts, and Girl Scout Gold Award recipients. They are accomplished writers, editors, mentors, educators, activists, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, poets, dancers, musicians, and artists. Finalists include founders of organizations focused on mental health advocacy and equity and empowerment, initiators of literacy programs and robotics programs, and environmentalists leading community sustainability programs.

The scholarship includes tuition and fees, room and board, enrichment activities, and additional expenses.

Park Scholarships is named for the late Roy H. Park ’31, an NC State alumnus who created the charitable Park Foundation, dedicated to education, media, and the environment.
