Globe-Trotting Educator Kathleen Griffin ‘11 Receives Fulbright Grant

While many are celebrating America’s Independence Day with cookouts and fireworks, Kathleen “Kat” Griffin ‘11 will board a plane bound for South Korea. The recipient of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) grant, Griffin will spend the next year living with a host family and teaching English in a public, secondary school in an as-yet-unassigned South Korean city.

Alyssa D’Addezio ’14 to Participate in Fulbright Summer Institute in United Kingdom

posted 2011.06.01 The US-UK Fulbright Commission has announced that Alyssa D’Addezio ‘14 will participate in a Fulbright Summer Institute at Newcastle University. During the five-week program in England, D’Addezio will explore the culture, heritage, and history of the United Kingdom, while developing research and communication skills. Lianne Gonsalves ’10 Awarded Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Venezuela

Earlier this summer, the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board announced that Lianne Gonsalves ‘10 was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Venezuela. Gonsalves is one of over 1,500 American citizens who will travel abroad for the 2010-2011 academic year through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship grantees are assigned various activities designed to strengthen English language instruction by establishing a native-speaker presence and to improve their students’ language abilities

Park Scholar Selected for Fulbright Award

Donald Katz was offered a Fulbright grant for the 2007 year. On May 16, NC State’s Belltower was lit red in honor of Donny Katz (2007). Donny, who hails from Freehold, NJ, studied Civil Engineering and received the senior award for academic achievement in that field. At NC State, he was active in Men’s crew, serving as the vice president, captain and president of the crew team. He organized the team’s first Million Meter Row event and facilitated the purchase

Park Scholars Selected for Fulbright Awards

Two Park Seniors were offered the grants for 2005. Adam Rush and Kerr Robinson, both class of 2005, were offered Fulbright grants for the 2005 year. Adam, a Pittsburgh native, studied Civil Engineering and served two terms as president of the American Society of Civil Engineers at NC State. He has presented and published at the Structural Analysis of Historic Constructions Conference in Padua, Italy, and is pending publication with the American Concrete Institute Materials Journal on his research during
